A small studio with an indie soul

What we make

We focus on a handful of apps at a time, each in a category we care about. Today that spans retro internet radio, GradeMyDrive for teen drivers and parents, voice-driven shopping lists, and two electronics-education tools — CircuitQuest for learning, and BenchBuddy for the workbench.

How we build

Native, offline-friendly, and built to last. We lean on device frameworks (speech, Vision, SwiftData) so the apps stay fast and private, and we keep the chrome out of the way so the app gets out of the way too.

Behind the studio

Behind all this is an indie developer — one person carrying a decades-long itch to do something genuinely useful with software that anyone can pick up and use. No team of engineers, no funding round, no roadmap by committee. Just a long-running belief that the best tools are the simple ones that respect your time, your attention, and your data, and finally the means to build and ship them.

“For a long time, technical people in the startup industry have made fun of ‘the idea guys’ — people who had an idea and were looking for a team to build it. It now looks to me like they are about to have their day in the sun.”

— Sam Altman

This is, by every measure, the era for the idea guy — and TechTunes is one person taking that bet.
